Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information The Narc (“The Narc,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. We’ve tried to keep it plain and honest. If anything here is unclear, email us at anthonye@aexperiences.studio.

The short version

The Narc reads your paperwork on your own phone. The photo of your bill, notice, or policy is processed in your browser and never leaves your device — we never receive it, and neither does anyone else. Your reads, your settings, and your saved letters are stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. When you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. The Narc is plain-English information — not legal, medical, tax, or financial advice. We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

Your documents — we don’t get them. When you snap or upload a bill, assessment, policy, collection letter, or benefits packet, the image is read by a text-recognition library that runs inside your browser. The image and the text pulled out of it stay on your device. They are not uploaded to us.
Saved on your device. Your reads, drafted letters, which doors you’ve opened, and your settings are stored in your browser’s local storage. We don’t copy this to our servers.
Account & email. If you subscribe or join a list, we keep your email address to run your account and tell you about the app — nothing more.
Payment information. If you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details directly. We receive only confirmation that a subscription is active — not your card number.
Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard request information (such as IP address, browser type, and time of visit) to keep the service running and secure.

How we use it

To run the app: the six doors, your reads, and the letters it drafts for you.
To remember your settings and your own saved work, on your own device.
To process and manage your subscription.
To keep the service secure, fix problems, and improve it.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that make the app work, and only as needed:

Stripe — processes subscription payments. (Stripe privacy)
Vercel — hosts the website and serves the app. (Vercel privacy)
jsDelivr — a public code network that delivers the text-recognition library your browser runs. It serves the library to you; it never receives your document. (jsDelivr privacy)
Google Play (and, later, the Apple App Store) — may distribute the app and handle store-billed purchases under their own terms. (Google privacy)

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or our company. We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Data stored on your device stays until you clear it — you can remove it anytime by clearing your browser’s site data for the app. Your email and account records are kept while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Subscription records held by Stripe are kept as long as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations.

Your choices and rights

On-device data: clear your browser’s storage for the app to erase your reads, letters, and settings.
Your account and personal data: to access, correct, or delete information, or to ask a privacy question, email anthonye@aexperiences.studio. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor those requests.

Not legal, medical, tax, or financial advice

The Narc explains paperwork in plain English and drafts letters you can choose to send. It is not a lawyer, a doctor, a tax preparer, or a financial advisor, and nothing it produces is advice about your particular situation. Check anything that matters with a qualified professional before you act on it. The decision is always yours.

Children

The Narc deals with bills, taxes, debt, and insurance and is intended for adults (18+). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. (Our separate kids’ learning products, when offered, are handled under their own child-privacy terms.) If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, and our payment and hosting providers maintain their own safeguards. Keeping your documents on your own device is the biggest protection of all — there is no copy of them on our side to lose. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data protected.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll change the effective date above, and significant changes will be reflected here. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
